Little Goose Dam Spillway Waterstop

Snake River near Starbuck, WA

Client: US Army Corps of Engineers
Date Completed: 2022

Spillway Bay No. 1 at Little Goose Dam is bisected by a monolith joint. The original joint waterstop failed over time resulting in constant troublesome leakage that made maintenance operations challenging – in fact, maintenance personnel referred to leakage from this joint as “the car wash.”

SCOPE OF WORK
Emagineered Solutions Inc. was contracted in December 2021 to perform repair of this leak during a very tight work window from January 23, 2022 to February 10, 2022.

Emagineered led a project team that installed a work platform on the spillway to gain access to the work area at the Ogee crest of the spillway. From the platform, a 6″ diameter borehole was drilled vertically along the monolith joint to a depth of 140′ under challenging conditions. Our CYLutions waterstop system was installed in the borehole to effectively cut-off flow through the joint.

The work was successfully completed within the project work window.
